Major General Tim Cross former Theatre Commander Iraq

Major General Tim CrossRemount is a project of its time. It has identified the needs and appreciated the difficulties facing people who are undergoing dramatic changes in their lives. It is focussed on setting them on the way to a successful fulfilling future. Everyone should take advantage in my view it is an important extension of the resettlement package.

Private Smith (a pseudonym) of the 3rd Bn The Rifles undertook the Remount Course along with six other Riflemen. He had encountered serios problems and was about to leave the Army:

“Thanks to Remount I know where I went wrong in the past and why. I now recognise my ability and know that I can achieve whatever I want. I’ve decided to stay in and have applied for an NCO’s cadre”.

WO1 Brad Braddock of the Army Physical Training Corps at Headley Court helping wounded men regain their fitness and trained the SAS:

“I went on the Remount course in a very cynical frame of mind. I was top of my job and there were few people to teach me anything. Anyway as I was facing civy street I thought that I might as well give it a whirl. Remount has changed my entire outlook on life and my views of other people. I now understand myself better and as a result appreciate my colleagues and friends more. It has helped me to find a real purpose for my life. When I leave the first thing I’ll do is apply for a job with Remount. It’s special”
