You can register now for a place, one to six months ahead or any date just after you leave the service. You can also elect to enrol as part of your decompression period and resettlement package but you will need to consult your OC if you are still serving.

Courses are running every weekend and some weeks until the 10th December 2007. They resume on the 20th January 2008 and continue from then on.

The Remount Programme will give you a completely fresh outlook on life and its possibilities for you. You will discover a capacity that you did not think you had and a clarity of purpose which will enhance your value to prospective employers and make you more attractive to your loved ones and friends.

You’ll be taught how to recognise opportunities and to make the most of them. Conversely you will learn about the inevitable down times, which you will encounter and be taught the proven methods and techniques for dealing with them. You will meet businessmen and women who will talk to you about finding the right job and ex service people who have done it and are success stories in their own right.

The causes and effects of PTSD and stress is covered. You will be taught the similarities and differences learn to recognise the symptoms in others as well as yourself. You will learn the proven methods and techniques for beating PTSD and managing stress.

Finally it will show you how to recognise the value of your military training and make the most of your combat experience in your civilian career. Yes you have unique qualifications and a special ability which the Re-mount Programme will show you how turn to good use in your future life..

Why the Re-mount Programme?

As most of you will know, Army horses returning to duty after injury or active service are referred to as Remounts. It seemed an appropriate name for these conversion courses.
