UrgentComments Off Location: Middle East Exclusively retained by our Saudi client, The List has been tasked to put together a team to form an Advisory Group to support the Saudi Ministry of Interior (MOI) Modernisation Programme. This extensive programme will upgrade the capability to detect, provide early warning, deter and respond to threats that may emerge along the KSA s land and maritime borders. The contract to build a hi-tech border security defence network in Saudi Arabia highlights growing concerns over smuggling and illegal immigration. The project will implement a border security system along 9,000km of the kingdom\'s border operated by the Border Guard (BG), including a radar grid covering land borders with the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Yemen and Oman (mountains, deserts and sea borders). The five-year contract combines infrastructure, weaponry, intelligence, marine and aerospace elements. The Advisory Group will fulfil the role as the client-side, intelligent customer thus providing contract assurance to the MOI and equally to act as the strategic partner in future contract development and enhancement.
The Advisory Group will consist of high-grade experts in their field and will comprise a number of functions as follows: C4i specialist: (probably at 1* level) develops CONOPS maritime and land: lead Advisory Group and directs implementation of the policies, plans and decisions of the Modernisation Programme leadership. Formulates policies for the operation of the Advisory Group and Modernisation Staff and ensures that published instructions are in accordance with the policies of the Modernisation Programme leadership. Ensures that allocated functions and tasks, are efficiently executed and that the budget is correctly allocated and distributed. Operational Research Analyst: Assist Modernisation Programme team to develop systems and operational procedures. Service Member of the First-tier Tribunal (War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber)Comments Off Location: UK Wide The War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber hears appeals from ex-service men and women who have had their claims for a war pension or compensation for physical or psychological injuries, rejected by the Secretary of State for Defence. The tribunal\'s jurisdiction covers England and Wales and it is independent from the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency.
The tribunal hears appeals relating to the old War Pensions Scheme, which ran from 1918 to 2005 and the new Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, which started in 2005. It determines: The War Pensions Scheme: whether claimants are entitled to a war pension the percentage at which the War Pensions Agency has assessed the claimants disablement whether the claimant is entitled to an allowance, for example for mobility needs. The Armed Forces Compensation Scheme: whether the claimant is entitled to an award the amount of the award. A tribunal comprises three members. It is chaired by a Judge and there is a medically qualified member. The third is a service member (the current vacancies). There will be no primary sitting location allocated; successful candidates will be expected to travel to venues as and when required.
